Dance Like Nobody’s Watching

by Kahu Brian Vatcher on May 17, 2010

I got this video sent to me.

It made me smile to see how much enjoyment is happening in the moment. I remember being about that age, going to my neighbors house (a house with 4 sisters) and making up choreography together. We had a blast.

So, I shared the video to pass along the joy. A reminder of times when we were innocent. One friend replied, “tragic.” I just wondered, “Can we see magic in an expression of joy?”

Beauty is where the heart is. We all have something to share. Mark Twain said it best, “Dance like nobody’s watching; love like you’ve never been hurt. Sing like nobody’s listening; live like it’s heaven on earth."

I get caught up in the wave when a new reality “star” shoots across the dark sky of the “Inter-Tube”. Talented people are great to see. But, I love to see the magic in the everyday; moments when I get to see the light shine in someone’s heart just like me. Who ever this kid is, I just am so glad he just had a blast and shared it with us.
